Kittanning, PA - According to Kittanning state police, seven people were flown by medical helicopters to Pittsburgh hospitals Saturday night, November 10, after a head-on collision of two cars two miles south of Ford City on Route 66 at about 5:45 p.m. near the Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church.
In the new world of side impact testing, most small cars aren't faring well. In recent tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, only the Chevrolet Cobalt and the Toyota Corolla rated "acceptable." And both vehicles are only acceptable when driven with the optional side airbags with head protection. "With the curtain airbags the heads of the dummies in the front and rear seats of the Cobalt and Corolla were cushioned, and head injury measures were low," says Institute chief operating officer Adrian Lund. "Head injuries are a factor in many deaths in real-world side impact crashes, and side airbags designed to protect the head make a big difference."
A significant percentage of traffic accidents each year involves trucks and trailers. The world of commercial trucking includes countless varieties of heavy duty trucks or rigs such as tractor-trailers engaged in interstate hauling, dump trucks working at construction sites, garbage and trash trucks removing a city's refuse, and delivery trucks transporting parcels to store customers. However, their owners and operators all are governed by common legal principles when it comes to establishing liability for negligence in the operation of their vehicles that occurs in a trucking accident.

Specialized bicycling activities include mountain or off-road riding, touring, racing, and stunt cycling, all of which are consistently popular amongst enthusiasts.
